The first workshop of this year will be about COMSOL. This powerful software tool will be very useful for the PME Master’s program. The software is capable of combining different physics calculations on your designs. During the course Micro- & Nanosystem Design & Fabrication, inc. MEMS Lab it will also be used to evaluate designs which is why this workshop can be of great value to those unfamiliar with COMSOL. Besides the MEMS course there is also a course specifically aimed at COMSOL (Multiphysics Modelling using COMSOL) in which students work on their own chosen project which is related to a lot of the PhD research in the PME department. The workshop will offer a live demonstration of the COMSOL Multiphysics modelling environment and an opportunity to learn to combine it with MATLAB. There will be a free daily wok meal available and some drinks so that you can fully focus on the workshop! The workshop will start at 18:00 on Tuesday November 15th in instruction room G (3mE) and will end around 21:00. Participating in this workshop will also give you one colloquia (Neve) point.
